Gutto Azevedo is a Brazilian filmmaker known for crafting emotionally grounded stories where humanity and truth guide the image. Founder of the acclaimed directing duo SALSA, he built an international body of work recognized for its cinematic intimacy, casting guided by emotional truth and instinctive storytelling.
In 2015, he won the Young Director Awards at Cannes, marking the beginning of a career that includes collaborations with Coca-Cola, Ikea, McDonald’s, Toyota, Citroën, Adidas, SWISS Air, Decathlon and Pfizer. His work has been recognized by major festivals and platforms such as Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, The One Show, London International Awards, Eurobest, Epica, The New York Festivals, Ciclope, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, MTV Europe Music Awards, Shots Awards, Lürzer’s Archive, Director’s Library and Vimeo Staff Pick.
His latest short film, Five More Minutes, has received more than fifteen international awards, including Cannes Indie Shorts Awards, Venezia Shorts, Berlin Indie Shorts, Dance Camera West in Los Angeles, New York Indie Shorts Awards and Dance On Camera at the Austin Dance Festival.
